Mockup videos with a transparent background
240fps exports mockup videos with a transparent background: choose Transparent in the Frame tab and export a WebM, which keeps the transparency and plays in Chrome, Edge and Firefox, or PNG frames, a numbered PNG for every frame in a zip for After Effects, Premiere, Final Cut or Resolve. 240fps for Mac also exports its screen recordings as ProRes 4444 .mov files with transparency, for Final Cut, Premiere, Resolve and Motion. MP4 has no alpha channel, so a transparent background turns black there.

Lay the device over anything
With no background, the device, its shadow and your screen are all that's in the file. Put the phone over your own footage, a landing-page hero or a slide, and it moves the way you animated it.
ProRes from the Mac app
In 240fps for Mac's editor, set the Scene background to Transparent and choose ProRes 4444 in the Export tab. The .mov keeps the transparency around your recording, and its device frame if you added one, and is saved to Movies › 240fps. ProRes files are large.

Questions
Why is my MP4 background black?
MP4 has no alpha channel. Export WebM or PNG frames in the browser, or ProRes 4444 from 240fps for Mac.
Which should I use in a video editor?
PNG frames, imported as an image sequence, or ProRes 4444 from 240fps for Mac if you need the sound in the same file. The transparent WebM is made for web pages in Chrome, Edge and Firefox.
Is it free?
Designing is free, and free exports are previews: up to 1280 px, with a small 240fps mark. Full-size exports with no mark come with 240fps Monthly ($7 a month) or Lifetime ($39 once). 240fps for Mac, with its ProRes export, comes with the same plans.
